Molyvos

"From the long bar in the front, with booths and a large wooden communal table, to the airy room in the rear, its walls cluttered with urns and vases, Molyvos is pleasingly informal and spacious. Of course, it's hard to resist the old standbys, like the outstanding Greek mezedes. Meaty pastitsio, served in a small ramekin and deftly touched with cinnamon and nutmeg, may be the best you've ever had. The best main courses tend to be the most straightforward. The kitchen gives special care to the fresh fish grilled simply over wood. Baby lamb chops are perfect with no more than a sprinkling of salt and pepper. Desserts include many of the standards, yet they are executed exceptionally well and served in enormous portions."
-Eric Asimov, New York Times

A meal in Molyvos (Greece) is a daily afternoon event where the family meal becomes a celebration of life. Molyvos in New York is the closest thing to Greece and this restaurant features a daily "celebration" of life from the kitchen and Greek home-style cooking of Chef James Botsacos, and a wine program that features a dramatic selection of Greek labels. It's a perfect choice for pre and post theater.
